Hummer History
The Hummer is a recent addition to the roadways and back trails of the world as in 1979 it was created in response to a competition for the creation of a High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). Its also known as the Humvee.

It was it was tested and used in military service in the late 80's and after very successful war-time implementation in the Persian Gulf War, it was introduced as a civilian vehicle in 1992.

There are 7 unique civilian models on the market today at more than 40 HUMMER dealerships across the USA.
